Tower Heist (2011)

Directed by Brett Ratner
Starred Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Tea Leoni, Gabourey Sidibe ...
2011, United States, English, 104 minutes

Here is one of the latest heist movies in video markets. Actually, it is a comedy heist, thus a caper movie. Two popular comedy actors Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy joined by other famous names such as Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, and Gabourey Sidibe, all Oscar nominees.
The movie offers both a cliché and non-cliché approach for a heist movie. We see many details, which break the genre known codes by simply refuging to the fact that it is a comedy. Then we go back to the depth of forest of the clichés in the same detail. I like it though.
It is sometimes clever, sometimes dull, but overall enjoyable caper movie. It is worth to give a shot, and it might turn to be a memorable movie for you. Or not at all.
